John and Doris Brasher were recently presented the National Garden Club Special Achievement Award of Merit for their work with female inmates in community beautification. There are several points around our city where Fayette Garden Club members have invested their talents and time to make Fayette an eye-pleasing place to live. The Brashers took a personal interest in the beautification projects and women inmates as they effected an influence on the town and the women. They are to be commended for their willingness to volunteer their time and lives for the benefit of others. The presentation of this Special Achievement Award of Merit is an acknowledgement by the National Garden Club of the perceived value of their efforts on behalf of the citizens of Fayette. Recognition of their efforts by the City is well deserved.
